A microwave and mayonnaise are all you need to make a chicken omelet sandwich for a quick breakfast or lunch bento. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/life/2025/10/28/food-drink/oyako-sando-recipe/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #life #fooddrink #japanesecuisine #meat #chefs #recipes
my CSA gave me an actual pumpkin but for cooking with not for carving
How do I get from gourd to pie or something? suggestions for what to do with it welcome!
I assume that canned stuff is like someone cut up a pumpkin, roasted it, and scraped it out of the skin?
I will also search, but I'm not sure how to explain to search engines that I mean "pumpkin, a gourd" not "a can of pumpkin"

Garlic Mustard - Eat It to Beat It!
• Young tender leaves can be torn up a bit and added to salads.
• Sautee garlic in olive oil or sesame oil or bacon grease; add chopped garlic
mustard and other greens if available (garlic chives, spinach, arugula,
lambsquarters, mustard greens, what-have-you); a little salt or soy sauce; add a bit of water or stock and cook gently. A dash of vinegar, balsamic or otherwise, may be in order. Taste and decide. This could be spread on toast, added to casseroles, eggs, quiche, stir-fries, etc.
• Garlic mustard pesto: crush garlic, slice up garlic mustard and also garlic chives if
available, puree both in food processor with olive oil and walnuts (or pine nuts);
add parmesan cheese. Start the water for pasta!
• Cream sauce: heat 1/4 cup oil and add 1/4 cup flour and cook; add hot milk.
Separately cook finely chopped garlic mustard in a little sesame oil; and tamari or soy sauce. Add some of the sauce; puree in food processor and add back to the sauce. Add cheese as desired. Good on stuffed grape leaves for one.
• With leftover garlic mustard sauce, add a little yogurt, balsamic vinegar, and tamari and serve as a sauce for steamed asparagus. [That sounds really good!]

I had the chance to cook Palestinian Rice Pot (Qudra) earlier. Palestinian Rice Pot (Qudra) is one of the staple Palestinian dishes. I’m going to share the recipe with you. It is one of my favourite dishes, I always try to cook it on the occasion. And I’m quite the chef, I always enjoy cooking for my family and my friends, and I enjoy food. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Can't or don't eat onions or garlic? Do you like Indian food?
No onion, no garlic recipes are well known in Indian food, eg Jains essentially do not use them, often foods associated with festivals and observances are onions and garlic free, ditto sattvic recipes (#ayurveda).
Searching on Jain recipes or sattvic recipes will show sites and video channels. But better still, just search on "Indian no garlic no onion recipes" and it will give you good results.

EDIT: OR, search for Hare Krsna or Hare Krishna or ISCON recipes - these are also onion and garlic free. There is a whole website of hundreds of dishes that are always good, and mostly easy dishes.

hello fediverse!
does anyone have some favourite #recipes that are #glutenfree and also #vegan (or rather, are completely milk-free, but i'm kinda 'rounding up' to vegan tbh) and peanut-free? what are brands for these things to look out for? what are some brands you always avoid? an emphasis on kid-friendly stuff would also be fantastic, if anyone has any knowledge they can share!
one of my niblings has just gotten a long list of food allergies and... i am someone who is probably 90% cheese by volume, lol, and obviously there's a lot of this i don't know! gluten-free, peanut-free and milk-free are the big absolutes right now. thankfully it's not an anaphylaxis level allergy, but it sure is a "wreck the entire digestive system" level allergy. as you can imagine working this out is a little overwhelming, because it's just a world that i don't have much experience with. if any of y'all do, i would very, very much appreciate the scuttlebutt!! thank you so much in advance, please have this capybara for your help 🙇 and feel free to boost this!

Finally the secret is out.
Ahh I also still have version 1 of #Drafts on my phone!
This is perhaps one of the best designed writing app I've ever used. I was so mesmerized by it when it launched. It's so simple and intuitive.
The new version is pretty good too. And I think the app has maintained its core mission over the years. Kudos to #Drafts. One of my all time fav #WritingApps
Shout out to #Mela: a markdown-based recipe app with amazing export ability and no subscription. Just pay once.
Mela goes into my consolation project. God, I love apps like this.
