I get to rule all the worlds of my imagination. (And by "rule" I mean "design, populate, and explore".)
NOTE: I take vicarious enjoyment from this—as well as earning a living at it—but you wouldn't want me for your absolute planetary overlord in reality!

Chance Would Be A Fine Thing
https://metalabel-ktav.metalabel.com/chance-would-be-a-fine-thing-book?variantId=1
Created by Bangkok-based design-art collective COPODE. Each #book contains 100 designs and an essay about chance combinations in #graphic layout using custom-made auto-layout #software.
I’m currently working with COPODE on the design of a set of badges playfully responding to the ‘100% Human Made’ movement in #art. That movement promotes the belief that genuine art can only be created by individual #humans through sparks of inspiration born of lived personal experience and the long development of #craft and skills.
Our badges, by contrast, read:
100% Inhuman: Made With AI
The accompanying text will affirm that the work was not created through a spark of human genius – a claim to originality that, from a #feminist and #decolonial perspective, has been likened to a form of colonial violence – but emerges from an assemblage of #human and nonhuman forces: bodies, texts, political infrastructures and, yes, #ai.

A #book that some of you may find interesting
This details the poisoning of a man living in Parker Road, Oratia (West Auckland) in the 1890s. It's a true story. The author has done a lot of research and not only tells the story of what happened and the trial, but also followed the lives of his family afterwards. The intergenerational impact of what had happened really struck me.

I have the sequel "Homeland" on my TBR pile too. Scarily prophetic for what is happening in USA right now. Maybe not great for hopeful escapism altho I expect a survivable ending cos the next in the series "Attack Surface" has some of the samecharacters.
For weirder escapism I'm also reading Merchant Traders series by Charles Stross @cstross
https://www.goodreads.com/series/40515-the-merchant-princes
They're portal fiction unlike the James Bond on a budget meets Lovecraft + Brit bureacracy of the #LaundryFiles. The latest ones in the New Management phase may appeal
https://www.goodreads.com/series/335314-the-new-management
Or the lighter UK X files but police and magic and nicer #RiversOfLondon series by Ben Aaronovitch in #books and comics
https://www.goodreads.com/series/51937-rivers-of-london
I also read cosy mysteries like Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club series.
https://www.goodreads.com/series/299267-thursday-murder-club
And for total escapism, Georgette Heyers' historical romances. Try The Grand Sophy

I finished reading the #book Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I don't usually read fiction and I find most bestsellers to be uninspiring. But @researchfairy described this as having "space lesbians," so I was intrigued. I would define it loosely as Sally Ride fan-fiction, if you are into that. I think it captures the 80s Space Race rather well and the romance between the two female astronauts feels believable. As a scientist who worked for NASA in the past, I had a few small issues with the story at first, but I think it is well-researched overall. So regardless of your gender or sexuality or knowledge of the space program, I think you will find this novel enjoyable. It is both nail-biting and heartwarming in places.
