I know this is a real longshot but has anyone (especially those in US) ever done a course with the Integrated Regulatory Board of Auditors

Love to know if anyone has done a course with them and if it was any good, or just knows them.

So this is a bit niche even for enviro-nuts like me but if you're down to sign petitions, this one could use it. Tell SUNY ESF to drop their partnership with the dangerous, unproven, and disrespectful "Darling 58" genetically modified chestnut tree makers SilvaBio.

If you read "The Overstory," you may be familiar with the tale of chestnut trees in North America: afflicted by an invasive blight and then prematurely chopped down by panicking white people, to the extent that chestnut trees almost went extinct. Now this private company has been working with ESF to develop blight-resistant trees, but even though their results are poor, and even though indigenous communities of the northeast, such as the Onondaga Nation, have been urging a traditional breeding approach, and even though SilvaBio's stated intent to sell the trees for profit is in conflict with ESF's mission for "all people... to propagate them for personal or restoration use," ESF has been sticking with SilvaBio.

What kindness do you see in your local community?

Once a year, Sara walks through New York City carrying roses, not for a cause or a holiday, but to see strangers smile.

In parks, on the subway, in line at a coffee shop, she offers each woman a flower. Attached is a handwritten note: "You are seen. You are enough. Keep going."

Reactions vary. Some people smile. Others cry. One woman, after a long pause, whispered, “I needed this today more than you’ll ever know.”

#ZohranMamdani just showed up at the #RTJ + #WuTangClan concert in #NewYork. My friends, who are backstage handling guest lists, are absolutely losing their minds over this dude. He and his wife are not acting like VIPs. They are in the pit, directly in front, rapping every word. They’re directing him backstage now and my phone won’t stop buzzing with photos and info.

The impact is impressive. The connection to the culture is genuine. I am praying for his success and protection at this point.

Today in Labor History July 4, 1840: The anti-rent association of Berne in the Hudson Valley issued its Declaration of Independence, starting the Anti-Rent War, which lasted until August 1845. Also known as the Helderberg War, the anti-rent war was a tenants' revolt in upstate New York against the patroons, who acted as feudal lords with the right to make laws. The first meeting of the Anti-Rent tenant farmers was held in Berne, New York on July 4, 1839. Leaders of the revolt were tried for riot, conspiracy and robbery in 1845. The first trial resulted in no convictions. A re-trial in September 1845 saw a fist-fight between the attorneys who were sentenced to solitary confinement for 24 hours. One defendant, Smith A. Boughton, was sentenced to life imprisonment, but was pardoned by the pro-Anti-Renter John Young.
