A pixel graphic themed character in armor and helmet from the classic DOS game Doom sits in front of a PC keyboard and screen showing a 2 by 2 split screen meeting showing four typical enemy characters from the game. Above the screen the games' iconical logo says Zoom instead of Doom.

My pro meeting audio tip for #GNOME users: map an unused top-right corner keyboard key as global shortcut for (un)muting the microphone, then paper-sticker-label it.
Now no need to have the meeting browser tab focused (or to remember each conferencing app's shortcuts) to toggle your microphone input.

The recording indicator in the top-right of your screen in GNOME reflects that change, although a bit too subtly. Up for grabs for newcomers: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/8077

It was an application of project Colab at Xerox PARC to study how computers could support face-to-face-meetings. The researchers designed a conference room with specialized equipment such as a touch sensitive projection screen and collaboration software in Interlisp running on networked workstations.
