maybe finally reached the breaking point in moving as many remaining groups and convos from Threema to Signal:
I have to swap out my phone due to a failing display, and while Signal imports its 6GB data backup without a hitch, Threema just … dies at 3GB, probably due to lack of memory. Which is just … astounding. And bad. And I'll have to delete some data, which, wtf.

The new #Threema desktop beta for #macOS looks really solid. It finally feels like a proper native app and no longer resembles a browser window.
Still, I wonder when the beta phase will finally end. It has been running for quite some time now.

Was ich an der gesamten Nummer aber extrem verstoerend finde ist, dass #Signal bei #Amazon hostet!
Du kannst nicht sagen: Ey EU... Wenn die Chatkontrolle kommt, dann sind wir weg und dann gibst du dich mit deinem Oekosystem dem US-Cloud Act hin.
Auch ein Grund staerker auf #Threema zu setzen!
Auch #Threema bleibt ein zentralisierter Dienst und damit ein Single Point of Failure. Nachhaltig sicher sind nur dezentrale Kommunikationslösungen.
