This is a good sign for podcasting #Fediverse apps like @Castopod, #WordPress (as well as @wordpressdotcom), @ghost, #MicroDotBlog, @peertube, etcetera, as it means more people are interested in listening to & creating podcasts.
I think professional podcasters will opt to use their own sites instead of relying on #Meta.

While Meta and other American big tech companies are banning LGBTQ+ accounts to censor the LGBTQ+ communities, we need to fight back.
People should have the right to freely express themselves, share their stories, resources to help each other and enjoy free, safe and inclusive spaces.
It's clear that we will have to fight to defend basic freedoms that are threatened by the Trump Administration worldwide. Fediverse is the real bastion of real freedom o speech and expression and we will need to keep it that way and strenghten it.

Just waiting on Zuck to launch a timely protocol that makes it easy to migrate from Mastodon to Threads.

Mastodon's ex-CEO recently said in an interview (I'll try to find the link) that the #Threads #Mastodon interpolation didn't work out because of Meta's lawyers. Idk man, Zuck gets caught doing evil shit like every week. This is where they drew the line?

You know who would love if these laws pass, btw? #Meta. Because it'll mean less competition as small communities fold under the weight of legislative compliance costs.
Remember that, and remember that two years ago, #Fediverse leaders under NDA helped Meta create a one-way siphon out of #Mastodon and into #Threads.
I still find it impressive that so many *informed* people rely on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Instagram, and the rest as their main way to share ideas. Why not a blog or a simple website instead? Why not offer some way to contact and connect with you that doesn’t depend on these tools?
Is Big Tech’s communication infrastructure really the most effective option, or simply the default? And what about those who choose not to use mainstream social media at all? Should they be excluded from your business, your ideas, and your professional network?
Maybe I’ve been overestimating what counts as being "informed."
I only see my doctor about once every 5-6 years. Saw him today.
I have been blessed w/doctors who listen closely, and who just tell the truth.
Having heard all of the evidence, he pronounced: 1) All the really bad things it could be involve bloody mucus, and you don't have that. 2) All the really minor things it could be involve fever and upper-GI (nausea) issues, and you don't have that. 3) The most likely outcome is that it will end soon, and we'll never know what it was or why it ended.
