...not lead to any corresponding reaction by X users to start using other platforms out of protest is a clear indication that the dynamic out of which the #Fediverse and #Bluesky have grown in the past year is truly over.

People who continue using a platform where the owner openly manipulates core functions to favour fascist messaging should not be assumed to have any further ‘red line’ that would finally drive them to leave.

Trotz seiner Bemühungen, rechtlich gegen diese Kommentare vorzugehen, scheiterten alle Versuche, die Kommentare zu löschen oder die Identität des Posters herauszufinden. X weigerte sich, die Daten herauszugeben, und die Behörden fühlten sich nicht zuständig. Selbst der Digital Services Act (DSA) konnte nicht helfen. Wolfs Fazit ist, dass X ein „rechtsfreier Raum“ ist, in dem Gesetze nicht gelten und Hasskommentare ungestraft bleiben.

Traurig, aber wahr: #Antisemitismus und #Rassismus nehmen leider zu.
Gut, dass der #Erforschung des Themas mehr Mittel zur Verfügung stehen.

Doch kann das @bmftr_bund noch mehr tun, um dem sich ausbreitenden Antisemitismus entgegenzutreten: indem es sich von #X zurückzieht.

@hateaid und die #EUJS klagen zurzeit vor Gericht gegen X/Twitter und stellen fest: „Twitter weiß, dass Juden*Jüdinnen täglich auf der Plattform öffentlich attackiert werden und dass so Antisemitismus in unserer Gesellschaft normalisiert wird. Mit dem Verbleib auf X vermittelt das BMFTR seinen Followern die Botschaft, es handele sich um ein Medium, das im Rahmen der Gesetze agiert. Das tut X aber nicht wie die Klage zeigt.

Ungewollt fördert das #BMFTR deshalb Antisemitismus, indem es X den Anschein von Legitimität gibt. Das BMFTR sollte seinen X-Account zügig still legen und den #Hochschulen und #Forschungseinrichtungen in Deutschland ein Vorbild sein.
