It's not the sign-up process that's preventing a mass-migration to #Mastodon. Reduce barriers to entry, sure. But it was not so long that we had to load a CD, type in credentials, and listen to the Internet demons summon our connection.

No, it's that Mastodon isn't suitable for Internet fame. The big accounts will ever come to a place that doesn't support an algorithmic caste system. How'd they know who's more important? If the big accounts won't come neither will anyone else

I think it would be WONDERFUL if there could be a prompt to ask: "are you sure you want to boost this?" when you're about to boost a post that has a picture without #AltText...

Because the "Explore" page makes me a little bit angry when I see EVERY SINGLE DAY the same accounts posting screenshots that do not contain any alt text descriptions. Not cool 😒

Life off of mainstream social media is so nice. I have not been using it for years, and only had it for work but finally deleted my #facebook account today. Before doing so I briefly looked through and just was reminded how shitting these profit motive social media sites are. More power to #mastodon and #activitypub for creating a sane part of the internet

hm Mastodon could use an automatic time stamp feature. Something like Discord's time stamps, but actually user friendly and fast to make use of.

This thought brought to you by coming across a streamer saying "We're streaming Game X at Time Y" and I'm just like, sweeties, I have no idea where you are and time zones exist.

But it's such an easy thing to space off.
