One effect of #pardons by name (and with sufficient identifying detail) is that a #list of #criminals * is thus published, and the citizens and others can make #future decisions in knowledge of it.
It might not always be bad, but for rare and repeatable offences it seems wise and proportionate.

I made a #mastodon #list just for #news sites I follow (which are still mostly #Flipboard, but good on 'em for being in #fedi at all), and it's so hard not to rewrite many of the headlines I see them using, like *anybody anywhere* doesn't see the bullshit fascist rhetoric each one is soaked in.
But then I realized there's no end to it, I could be rewriting these all day!
Ugh.. How to de-consolidate #journalism again? How do we evict all the #billionaire colonizers, and go back to #Democracy?
How do we even confirm the authenticity of the #EpsteinList at this point...
Names can easily be added & removed.
If you can forge a Picasso, a list is nothing, especially if digital 📝
You can bet they can have a new list written and aged or the Metadata scrubbed...
