I'm slowly starting to share more images from my multi-year project "This Land Remembers", an odyssey into the last remaining ancient native woodlands of Scotland (like this one from a brilliant Autumn morning in 2025). I also have an upcoming exhibition at Gallery Photiq this April/May featuring 12 prints from the project, including this image.

Ready for My Close-Up¹

Gorgeous Dynjandi, jewel of the Westfjords. Its white water wedding veil is ≈ 30m wide at the top and 60m at the base.

A zoomed shot from halfway up the path shows the top viewing platform, the railings about waist-height. I waited for someone to arrive and lend scale, but I was impatient to make the climb.

A new, short piece today.

It’s about winter in Scotland, the limits my body is setting right now, returning to photography after months away, and the common ground between my creative practices, where I can see the same voice carrying across both. Lots of photographs in this one too.

Probably one of my favourite shots from the trip. I like high contrast in black and white photos. And geometry. And curves if possible.

Eroded by ice and glacial floods, the wrinkled face of the mountain weeps waterfalls.

Green vegetation briefly takes advantage of every level shelf in the shattered flank. The snow will return soon enough.
