NM #primaryschool students will take the “#AI enhanced” Amira reading test (replacing iStation). When asked how the AI will be able to correctly compute #newcomer accents, speech impediments, etc. to accurately determine #student #fluency and placement, the trainer - I kid you not - opened up the Amira AI chat to ask it how it worked. It received a very confident answer about using multiple measures. This happened in front of my actual eyeballs. #education #elementary #newmexico #assessment

I saw one of those maps that shows how people in different regions voted with red being Republican and blue being Democrat and the majority was sadly red, but someone commented by saying that the blue area is where most people live and the red area is where cows shit and it was 100% accurate.
Behold New Mexico!
Lots of rural precincts in the Land of Enchantment are blue. (Except for the southeast sector at the lower right, which is often called "Little Texas" for good(?) reason.)
Those rural blue regions largely correspond to:
https://www.sos.nm.gov/voting-and-elections/native-american-election-information-program/23-nm-federally-recognized-tribes-in-nm-counties/
And we have another entity that only exists along the borderlands:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonia_(United_States) Colonias tend to vote blue, and are considered rural precincts.

Anyway here's a look at how Albuquerque approaches homelessness differently than other cities in the region. #NewMexico

I was in Tucson talking to someone. I mentioned I was was from Albuquerque and their response was "I'm so sorry!" This makes me grumpy. Yeah, Albuquerque is a little rough but nothing like the violent hellscape people seem to think it is. At first I blamed breaking bad but I noticed that the haters often share certain socioeconomic characteristics. I think that the problem is that Albuquerque has lots of brown folks and poor people and the city doesn't pretend that they don't exist. #NewMexico

A mistake in the operating room can threaten the life of one patient; a mistake in statistical analysis or interpretation can lead to hundreds of early deaths. So it is odd that, while we allow a doctor to conduct surgery only after years of training, we give SPSS to almost anyone.

Question for #immigration lawyers. Is the Otero Immigration Court in Chapparal #NewMexico operational? Are hearings held there? I thought it was, see https://www.justice.gov/eoir/otero-immigration-court , but the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center says on its website that there are no immigration courts in NM. Maybe that information is outdated?
