Do you remember the surprise announcement of a new social network in Davos this past January? Something that promised to be the "first" European social network?

Its name is #WSocial and it's a fork of #Bluesky. Its founders have ties with European politicians - but there is no official involvement by the EU.

Hey, #AskFedi... I'm trying to covert PDFs to ODTs (on Linux) with some semblance of formatting retained. So far, I've tried LibreOffice Draw, pdf2odt, pdftotext, and Calibre. All of them either give me images or garbled text. Has anyone got this working?

I would agree here, definitely not all data centres are bad and some are just necessary sometimes. But definitely not all data centres. Same with cars, really, or aviation.

It does, however, highlight the importance of not putting all your eggs in one basket, and at least having some services hosted elsewhere. Oh, and backups. Always backups.

A good way to reduce noisy AI security reports is also to write a public vulnerability disclosure policy with what is considered a security issue and what is just a bug.
