#France said it was surprised that the #EuropeanCommission had sent an official to the #BoardOfPeace meeting, saying it did not have the mandate to represent member states.
"Regarding the European Commission & its participation, in reality we are surprised because it does not have a mandate from the Council to go & participate," foreign ministry spox Pascal Confavreux said to reporters, referring to the Council of the #EU's members.
The #WorldBank, the #UN & the #EU had estimated last February it would cost >$50billion to rebuild #Gaza, & were finalizing a new interim estimate of $70billion in November.
Soccer's governing body #FIFA will also help to raise $75 million for #soccer related projects in Gaza, #Trump said. The #US, #Canada & #Mexico will host the FIFA World Cup later this year.
Trump also said that it looks like #Palestinian militant group #Hamas will disarm. [doubtful]

Supporting the #fediverse shouldn鈥檛 mean centralising it, capturing it, or over-regulating it. The real challenge is to fund capacity, standards, and sustainability without undermining #decentralization, pluralism, or community governance.

Just finished a 10 hour day doing volunteer work on #DigitalMarketsAct #AndroidDeveloperVerification and related #policy things. It is really important work, especially for #FOSS @fdroidorg and more. It is quite interesting, I only wish I could get paid to do it so I could engage more. The #EuropeanCommission and others would certainly welcome more input from people like me.
Just finished a 10 hour day doing volunteer work on #DigitalMarketsAct #AndroidDeveloperVerification and related #policy things. It is really important work, especially for #FOSS @fdroidorg and more. It is quite interesting, I only wish I could get paid to do it so I could engage more. The #EuropeanCommission and others would certainly welcome more input from people like me.
