OK, so #Inkscape is the latest in the lineup of #LibreSoftware to tickle my fancy!

I had switched over to my #Linux box to get some work done and then realized the work I needed to get done was editing some SVGs. In the past I'd have used Affinity on Mac or iPad.

But then I remembered that @inkscape is a thing. So I installed it, *quickly* got up to speed, and completed my task.

My list of "what can't I do on Linux" is dwindling rapidly! 😁

Made an icon for Samerion Studio, my world and resource editor.

As for my usual workflow, made it initially in #Krita, and moved to #Inkscape for finishing touches (shadows & gradients)

So I made a little prototype of my #Inkscape to slide generator! You can find the Rust code here: https://codeberg.org/blinry/inkslide

It will create one PDF page per layer, which shows that layer plus all parents. It's pretty fast, because all pages can be processed in parallel (thanks to the rayon library)!

I noticed that as an exception, the topmost layer should not be rendered to its own slide (I use it as a "master slide").

Create a retro gaming asset (a character, a weapon, treasure, etc.) by limiting yourself to a 32x32 grid and a palette of only 16 colors.

Create a 512x512 version with an unlimited color palette as a reference. Then create a 32x32 version with only 16 colors.
