Nice! There’s still a fair amount of jank, that jump animation is appalling, and part of his hair does culling at random camera angles. But, I took my custom character and made him move! #GameDev#Godot

Footage of a goofy-looking guy in a cotton jacket walking around, jumping with the wrong animation frames, walking in circles, running, and switching to first-person view to look at the blue test character.

In case you missed it live, @manuq and @cassidy streamed a first look at Threadbare, our new open source game built with @godotengine! Check out the recording to learn why we’re building a game and how anyone can contribute to tell their own story.

Okay, so after a lot of tinkering and messing around, I managed to get a 3D model generated with #MakeHuman to animate with the free animation assets from Mixamo. Still a lot to figure out, and some aspects of this character look pretty goofy, but I might be able to get this guy as the player character in #Godot soon!

Various animations of a generic white dude with brown hair and drab, crappy clothes walking around at various angles.

Just played through DOGWALK, the Creative Commons-licensed game that was made by Blender Studio and created using Blender and Godot.

It’s absolutely, remarkably gorgeous! And plays great on my #framework 13 at native resolution with controller/rumble support. It’s a 15-30 minute game and completely free, so it’s well worth your time!

I’ve been having a lot of fun with #Godot today. Still lots of things to figure out, and lots to break on accident. Still, starting on 3D stuff may actually be easier than I initially expected. I’m trying to focus on really basic, easy stuff.

I’m fascinated at the possibilities. Can’t wait to start altering the sandbox to have a small house or something!

Hey, not bad! This feels like pretty decent progress. Now, if I could just perfect the position of the camera rig, so that it feels more over-the-shoulder… #GameDev#Godot

A brief demo of a 3D game template in Godot, this time with proper camera support in the gamepad. There's a nifty overlay that shows how the sticks are moving, and what buttons are pressed, to indicate how camera movement matches up.

Okay, it’s not super impressive. Right now, I’m just playing with a #Godot template for a third-person control system. I’ve already learned a few things from mapping my gamepad to the input system, though. #GameDev

Just a really basic Godot 3D demo where an undetailed puppet character walks around a grid with a yellow wall and a green ramp. The puppet walks back and forth and jumps a few times.
