In addition, I know how challenging the labour market is at the moment. As a way to help more job seekers gain the practical skills and confidence needed to navigate it, I'm offering a free, 6-week pilot job search group to begin in late February / early March.

Just submitted my first job application in 15 years, and only one mistake - holding down shift+enter for a new line in a text box that accidentally submitted the application itself. Luckily, I was on the last entry.

All they got for that entry was the title: "Moving from a Baker's Rack to Actual Infrastructure."

Maybe that will make them curious enough to contact me about the whole story? 😁

I can't speak for every #infosec #hiringManager, but personally, if I see niche skills listed in the "Skills" section of your resumé that don't seem at all relevant to any of your work experience but DO seem to be copied directly from the job description, I'm going to think it likely that you're lying about having those skills, and I'm going to poke at that hard during screening, and if it turns out I'm right you're going to be immediately disqualified from consideration.

God that was hard, admitting to not only myself but in a post on LinkedIn that shit isn't all sunny and happy in the business world for my little agency took a lot.

(Sr.) Network engineer, knows ISPs, IXPs, people/NOGs around, the systems/infra needed for all that. I've been around the industry for ~20 years and would rather work for an entity with ethics.
