Say what you want about DHH, as a long-time Linux user I support the effort to bring Linux to the masses.
It's funny, a week ago I was repeating the joke "this year will be the year of the Linux desktop!!!", but then I realized wait, the Linux desktop is pretty good now, even for newbies.
Big credit to Steam's #Proton for making games on Linux just work. That was my last real reason to dual-boot to Windows.
My most recent Linux realization is that #Kdenlive, the open source video editor, is really good. Like as good as #DaVinci Resolve for what I use. So that's cool.

I had to set up an udev rule:
ATTRS{name}=="Contour Design ShuttlePRO v2" MODE="0644"
With this I can use it with my normal user account without any special permissions.
In #Kdenlive (Flatpak variant) it just shows up as configurable device.

I just saw that the IV March of Indigenous Women will be next week! I filmed some scenes from the second one three years ago. Will definitely try to do it this year as well.

There's a strange thing happening to me in my current #kdenlive video project: The rendered audio wave form of one of the clips does not match what I hear - it's more than half a second off. Almost impossible to edit video like that.

Holy Hell, the folks staffing the Kdenlive forums have the patience of a saint. People will just come in and say "Make it like Premiere Pro + After Effects" and they will calmly explain exactly why that sentiment is worth less than the bandwidth it took to communicate it.
