Multiple acquisition offers this year? All declined. Another one last week? Also declined.

I built Pixelfed for the people, not shareholders.

@dansup I respect that too, however aren't you afraid that someone else is going to fork #pixelfed and get massive backing from shareholders to market it like crazy by giving huge ad revenues so that they lure over the users?

The Fediverse truly is for everyone: if you don't have the skills or means to set up your own instance, you can join one of the public instances that aligns with your aspirations. If you can and want to, you can create your own instance, and thanks to lightweight (and interoperable) software, you can do it with spare hardware or very affordable VPS.

Just built something I don't think any other fediverse project has: ultra-granular federation controls.

Loopers can pick exactly which servers to federate with, go local-only, or even pause delivery.

It was tough to code, but our community deserves this power ❤️
