The elegance of the current #shitshow:
☑️ A multibillion-euro telecom like #Odido can’t manage basic logging, alerting or encryption…
☑️ While AI-spreadsheet cowboys draw kindergarten conclusions about complex socio-economic systems while feeding millions of #Dutch civilians into #LLM’s..
☑️ Followed and funded by #Microsoft ads about data ownership on platform X, which seems to view the #DSA as a woke left-wing declaration of war.
What can go wrong❓
I case anyone is worried about AI taking junior support rôles because it can actually do the job, rather than because management doesn’t care about retention:
When I encountered a cascade of #Azure bugs last weekend (all of which could have been avoided by half an hour of thinking when implementing their control plane), it recommended #Copilot to help me. I tried it, mostly on the basis that it would cost #Microsoft money and they’d annoyed me by not doing basic QA on their products. My experience:
- It was not able to diagnose the problem.
- It was slow to respond.
- It sent me to pages that didn’t exist.
- It told me to use UI elements that didn’t exist when it sent me to pages that did.
A complete waste of my time and their money. If they’d spent half as much money on QA for Azure tooling that they spent on Azure Copilot, they’d have had a far bigger impact on customer experience (and that impact would have been positive).
The latest release of documents from the U.S. Justice Department related to Jeffrey Epstein shed light on how the financier ingratiated himself with top Microsoft executives. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/business/2026/02/26/tech/jeffrey-epstein-microsoft-executives/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #business #tech #microsoft #joiito #reidhoffman #jamesestaley #jpmorgan #lawrencesummers #jeffreyepstein #billgates #humantrafficking #sexcrimes

LOL disappearing mouse pointer... wonder if that was also vibe coded.
"...Microsoft is investigating a known issue that causes the mouse pointer to disappear in the classic Outlook desktop email client for some users..."
Sad to say, but goodbye #Xbox, you had a good run. Mostly.
But your naming scheme sucked, like most #Microsoft products.

Just came across this GitHub post from a few weeks ago. Why are these features shipping only now? These controls have been overdue for well over 10 years.
I appreciate that they’re making these changes, but the vibe is so off on this post. Even starting from the title, it’s telling us slop is the new normal, and to solve it, you’re getting everything except a straightforward setting to disable random people pointing Copilot at your repo. They would rather you close all PRs from the public, than to just block Copilot PRs.
Sure, every reasonably popular repo got PRs from people doing it just for vanity. They were usually simple enough to tell. But as GitHub say themselves, “Today, a pull request can be generated in seconds”. That’s where it becomes deceptive, consuming time reviewing code that likely hasn’t been tested, and the submitter can’t explain any of the details of.
