As a longtime #davinciresolve user I'm giving serious thought to embracing #kdenlive in my creative and professional workflow. Full 10-bit support and GPU acceleration might be the thing to seal the deal but in the meantime I've been turning my node trees into LUTs so I can bring my preferred looks to the system. This will definitely work well for content I make on social media at least as a practicing ground. Any interest in these LUTs?

Where do you normally report issues for the #kdenlive project? I've noticed some tweaks needed. For instance where you can do "Extract Clip" by pressing Shift + Del, it gives me warning that it's an ambigous shortcut, but I haven't changed anything so the defaults are ambiguous. No one tested this obviously :)

One of the things I plan to do this year is more #audio and #video experiments. Connect more with my artistic roots.

@frd El experimento nunca apuntó a cambios upstream ni a proponer paquetes oficiales, sino únicamente a pruebas locales en #AntiX / Debian stable, para evaluar hasta dónde es posible llegar con ese stack y entender sus límites reales.
Cuando publique el método, será solo como documentación técnica y experiencia personal, con advertencias claras, y sin ninguna expectativa de soporte fuera de ese contexto.
@frd Por otro lado En julio de 2025, en una discusión oficial en KDE Discuss, desarrolladores de Kdenlive mencionaron que se había posteado en GitHub y que la librería Movit parece haber sido corregida y debería funcionar nuevamente con KDE. Eso no es un anuncio formal de lanzamiento, pero sí es una señal de intención y progreso entre desarrolladores.

Este build es experimental y deliberadamente conservador:
• Kdenlive 23.08.x sigue siendo plenamente funcional con MLT 7.24.x
• Movit sigue existiendo y MLT aún puede compilarse con soporte Movit
• Qt6 es el camino a futuro, pero Qt5 sigue siendo estable y válido en este stack
• El objetivo es evaluar rendimiento y reproducción, no “seguir la última rama”

Say what you want about DHH, as a long-time Linux user I support the effort to bring Linux to the masses.
It's funny, a week ago I was repeating the joke "this year will be the year of the Linux desktop!!!", but then I realized wait, the Linux desktop is pretty good now, even for newbies.
Big credit to Steam's #Proton for making games on Linux just work. That was my last real reason to dual-boot to Windows.
My most recent Linux realization is that #Kdenlive, the open source video editor, is really good. Like as good as #DaVinci Resolve for what I use. So that's cool.
