Não digo que o indico como "alternativa" a algo indesejado, por preferir o pensamento contrário: sempre deixar em primeiro lugar o que preserva as liberdades essenciais a quem utiliza software, ou seja, software livre, e nem considerar digno de sugestão algo que, comunitária ou individualmente, priva as pessoas do controle da tecnologia — software privativo.
@CryptPad@xwiki.com, projeto liderado pela equipe da XWiki, pode ser descrito, em suma, como uma boa alternativa à maior parte de :nextcloud: Nextcloud — igualmente sob AGPLv3 — ou a vários sistemas de armazenamento, compartilhamento e edição coletiva de documentos de escritório em "nuvens". Inclusive formulários de pesquisa. Seu principal diferencial é manter os dados cifrados no servidor, além de realizar a maior parte do processamento no lado do cliente-navegador, evitando sobrecarga na infraestrutura quando há edições de documentos por várias pessoas ao mesmo tempo.
É possível utilizar imediatamente alguma das várias instâncias de CryptPad divulgadas ou pode, entre as consequências das quatro liberdades essenciais do software livre, hospedar a sua própria.
