Proud of my daughter: "Where's a good place I can upload photos from my various projects where I know they're safe and I can't get locked out or lose access?". This is a 20-year old iPhone user brought up on Google Classroom/Drive, etc. So I run my own servers across various datacentres, do I go for #NextCloud, a #PixelFed instance or just scare her with a place she can scp to?

Tested the latest version of #NextCloud on Debian 13, and it works well. I also see no "AI" bullshit, so presumably that's all turned off by default.

One minor criticism is that it doesn't accept my fediverse handle. I think what's happening here is that it's trying to do some sort of confirmation via the Mastodon API, and #Epicyon doesn't implement the (non-standard) Mastodon API.

@mwl i use my #Nextcloud Instance. To Share any File with Full Control over it. Also i can create Dropoff Link if needed. So the Recipient of the Link can Upload the Files secure and directly to me.

In my company i see that some customers use #swisstransfer as alternative.
