The photographs depict an old wooden house in the background, partially hidden by trees and shadow. In the foreground, the emphasis is on burdock stems with large leaves and prickly inflorescences, illuminated by the sun. The entire scene is done in black and white, which gives the image a slightly nostalgic and atmospheric aesthetic.

Been doing some IRC hacking for #circe lately to get back into writing #elisp. One quick win is adding more entries to the default networks list, so I decided to look into actually popular IRC servers adjacent to FLOSS and tried to connect to GIMPNet:

- The server is allergic to any port scanning attempts and temporarily refuses services if you do anything funny, like connecting too quickly to the wrong ports.
- When establishing a TLS connection, I get a cert for irc.acc.umu.se (which very understandably trips up NSM with a prominent warning)
- When directing sslscan at it without options, it doesn't detect any SSL/TLS protocol versions (presumably by virtue of scanning too fast?)
- When invoking sslscan with `--starttls-irc` for the heck of it, I get a segfault

Given that the irc.gnome.org alias to the same thing is defunct, I don't even know whether to bother adding support for this. Chances are the #GIMP/#GNOME folks are using Discord or Matrix instead?

Hallo

The Screenshot tool that comes with Linux Mint does what I need most of the times. For more advanced uses I've found Flameshot, a cross-platform tool which can annotate screenshots.

@amoroso
Thank you for this tip, 👍 🙏
I use #screenShot all the time to help folks switch off of the old legacy OS and often need to highlite the salient parts of a screen shot.
Its has always been a huge overkill to bring up #inkscape or #gimp just to draw a red circle around something.

#flameshot is the right tool for the job.

Long live #FLOSS and #FOSS and our ability to use free softwarer.

Can someone recommend a photo editing tool that combines (a) the ease of use and (b) the plethora of available filters that I'm used to from #Snapseed on Android, but for a #GNOME desktop? (The #GIMP excels at (b) though not so much at (a), in my book.)

(Boosts for reach appreciated.)
