did u know we have a submarine just,,, here on the river all the time??

it's the USS Blueback, now a museum (been that way for a looooooong time actually) operated by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI)

u can go on it and learn about diesel-electric subs!

it's pretty neat

in the background is the Tilikum bridge, a pedestrian and transit only bridge

(also neat and highly traveled, with 210k cyclists so far this year)

Thanks! If you travel to Millersberg PA Fri-Sun during the summer it’s fun to take the 15-20 minute paddle wheel ferry ride across the river with or without your car — or horse and buggy!

Current fare: $15 each way for car/SUV (including driver); $5 each way per walk on person (kids < 4 free).

An early morning alone on the banks of the (still young) Isar river some weeks ago... Really more "flow" rather than #WaterfallWednesday, but I just absolutely cherish places and moments like this & feeling so privileged being able to experience these after decades of living in large cities... (each time also a reminder how much we stand to lose...)

Recently joined @NABU for a walk through Berlin's Wuhletal, which is currently being renaturalized. Beavers and otters - once gone - are back and thriving. Incredible animals and brilliant builders! It's also fascinating to see how the moor frogs and moorhens immediately feel better here as soon as the beavers dam up the water with their structures. A rising water level would also be relevant to climate protection as a sink for peat.
