A black and white landscape photo of a wide meadow area covered in a thick fresh snow. The meadow has a deep trench running up the middle where there's a not quite frozen creek. On either side, forming a "V" shape running up the meadow to a distant mountain range is a thick forest of conifer trees. The sky is mostly cloudy except for two small areas where clear dark sky is seen. It appears dark because of the use of a red filter.

The Gerlach, Nevada, "Red Neck Weather Station." There use to be one on the edge of town, long before the Burners showed up. This much newer weather station is on the unofficially named "Guru Road" along the edge of the Black Rock playa.
