Hundreds of firefighters are battling to stop the spread of a fast-moving wildfire in the the Corbières hills of southern France.

The blaze burned an area the size of Paris over one afternoon and night and was still burning on Wednesday evening, making it the second biggest fire in France in 50 years.

Le Netflix français, l'histoire d'un naufrage : SALTO
(French Netflix, a story of failure: SALTO)

Interesting video explaining the reasons why the French Netflix, Salto, failed.

Salto, a French subscription streaming service, was launched in 2020 as a joint venture between France Télévisions, TF1, and M6. It was created to compete with international platforms like Netflix and offered a mix of French and international films, television series and documentaries. Salto was known as "the French Netflix" because it represented France's national effort to create a local alternative to American streaming giants.

Ok, well. I guess shit is just going to get continuously more fucked up. 👀

"A disturbing scene unfolded at a gas station in #Italy this week when a #Jewish father and his young son from #France were accosted by strangers shouting anti-#Israel slogans. The incident, captured on video and widely circulated online, has reignited concerns about rising  #antisemitism across #Europe. They were just trying to use the toilet.

The confrontation began when the child, wearing a #kippah was spotted by passersby. Within moments, the pair was bombarded with shouts of “Free #Palestine” and “murderers.” The boy appeared shaken and visibly distressed, while his father, standing firm, responded by shouting “Am Yisrael Chai” (“The people of Israel live”). In sequence, the father was pushed into the floor, beaten and had his glasses broaken by the harassers. In the meanwhile, his son was pushed aside and protected by a pedestrian who tried to shield him from the chaos."
