Thanks @eff. It's good this essay mentions moving to decentralized social media, but including #Bluesky PDS in the recommendation is in error because there is still corporate owned centralized intermediation of access to the data.
The best thing for organizations to do is establish their own branded Fediverse instance in a manner similar to what the European Commision has done:

@hiphopheaven I'm cool with #Loops being another great thing on the #Fediverse, but i'm just being honest about how this place often is so far from reality.
#Linux users thinking everyone is going to switch to linux... classic example. 26 year linux user here and i'll admit 34 years of it existing it's still single digit marketshare. That is growing but it's not taking over #Windows or #MacOS any day soon.
Just like Loops won't be #GenZ's go to for short form #Video content.

You think #GenZ wants to see our content from Millenials, GenX and Boomers?
That's not a selling point, it makes it pretty cringe to them.
They also don't care what underlying tech it uses, just like all those who left for #Bluesky don't care about #decentralization.
No #Algorithm in loops & no advertising money = Something cool here, but little meaning elsewhere to most folks using social platforms.

11.8 Million Accounts, 949.9K active accounts - Down 3.1% from last month.
So no plans on advertising outside of the #Fediverse, #Bluesky keeps growing and #Loops is going to overtake or even compete in any way with #TikTok with #GenZ's help from a ton of content provided by #Millenials, #GenX and #Boomers.
Does this actually seem realistic to anyone here?

I understand that #ATproto should be for everyone, but decentralization means you don't have to allow everyone on your server. They can run their own and everyone can decide how to deal with that. The company doesn't need to make these decisions. She knows this.

@nadinehoessrich @pallenberg So ähnlich ging es mir auch. Hatte vor ein paar Jahren schon mal den Versuch gemacht, aber dann, nachdem ich BlueSky verwenden konnte, ist das eingeschlafen. In #BlueSky bekommt du dann ja auch, nicht ganz so schnell wie in Twitter, dein Ping und die Hormonausschüttung. Hier muss man aktiv sein, um Anerkennung zu bekommen

The White House just joined BlueSky. What does that mean?
It means BlueSky is gaining political traction, especially among American activists and the wider public.
If the Fediverse ever reached the same level of attention, they’d likely try to undermine it too. Maybe that day will come.
