@hiphopheaven I'm cool with #Loops being another great thing on the #Fediverse, but i'm just being honest about how this place often is so far from reality.

#Linux users thinking everyone is going to switch to linux... classic example. 26 year linux user here and i'll admit 34 years of it existing it's still single digit marketshare. That is growing but it's not taking over #Windows or #MacOS any day soon.

Just like Loops won't be #GenZ's go to for short form #Video content.

You think #GenZ wants to see our content from Millenials, GenX and Boomers?

That's not a selling point, it makes it pretty cringe to them.

They also don't care what underlying tech it uses, just like all those who left for #Bluesky don't care about #decentralization.

No #Algorithm in loops & no advertising money = Something cool here, but little meaning elsewhere to most folks using social platforms.

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but *really* hoping it's based on relevance not popularity so we can avoid the problems of centralized social with it snowballing the success of the already successful 1% and ragebait engagement traps.

Bring the people what each unique individual actually wants, not what has already been made popular by the lowest common denominator (ie lizardbrain ragebait).

#FediAlgo (the customizable timeline algorithm / filtering system for your Mastodon feed) v1.2.2 is deployed now. Has a switch that makes sure any #hashtags / users / etc. that you follow are displayed as filter options even if they don't meet the minimum number of recent toots threshold.

Also a bunch of bug fixes and small improvements.

The #algorithm on #YouTube has flipped hard right wing for me, a few other people have said the same, please add if you have seen this as well?

If this is widespread, it shows how important it is to get normal people back to the #openweb reboot we are all involved in here.
