@jpm perfect example of theoretical vs practical vs time-optimised
Theoretical: that fucken equation
Practical: 1.2V threshold, simple voltage divider calc using ~10k resistors so pin current is irrelevant
Time-optimised: slap down 2 x DNP resistors, float the pin and leave the option to do better later. Welp, it’s beer o’clock!
@ozeng There's a sting in the tail of the "practical" solution for this part - V(in) is rated for 30V, but EN is only rated for 5. Sorry, but yeah you need to do the maths, float it, or control it externally using a GPIO.

Karlsruhe, 01-May-2008,
Today marks 35 years of Ukraine’s restored independence.
Ukraine’s spirit is indestructible. It is defending sovereignty, democracy, and international law on behalf of all free nations.
We remain fully committed to supporting Ukraine’s victory, its recovery, and its European path.
Ukraine’s security is Europe’s security.
What about #Pallestine's right to independence, security, safety ... the right not to be killed by #ApartheidIsrael ?
I don't see you and Frau Ursula stand up for that!

So, uh, funny thing, pretty sure there's a few Western sites that do this exact thing as well.
I'm not 100% yet, but I've had the exact same functional behavior on LinkedIn as well as Meta sites, despite autoplay being off and no media showing.
Regardless of how nutty MM gets, WordPress is still a great CMS.
No implication whatsoever, only what I stated. I was genuinely surprised.
@vruz @foone Is it true though? When I read or watch info about genuinely cutting edge tech of today, it seems the primary motivator for forward movement is the limitations of physics, e.g. microchip fab companies, etc. The approach to that appears often to be what distinguishes companies and teams working on these problems.
Modern software engineers on the other hand almost never seem to think of the underlying hardware in my experience. Not sure if that's the side you refer to though..?
So much “advice” I’ve received over the years, from teachers, colleagues, employers, family, has functionally boiled down to some variant of these:
“Just be less autistic.”
“Just be less ADHD.”
“Just be more well-adapted to the society you were born into.”
“Just care more about things you don’t care about, and less about the things you do.”
“Just do the things you find hard, that I don’t. It’s easy!”

@onepict this!
And if someone insists (either explicitly or implicitly) on not providing anything in writing, after each call send a summary via e-mail:
"This is how I understood your instructions and the reasoning behind them, please let me know if anything is incorrect."
Most of the time it's not going to be useful. But when it happens to be useful, you will be very glad to have done it.

What most cinema seem to do instead (with the notable exception of the independent arthouses) is screen about 7-10 movies at a time. All of them screened every day, usually multiple times a day, mostly to empty theatres.
It doesn't seem like the most effective use of the resources invested in cinemas. Nor does it really give us the experience we're paying for. Most people pay to watch at a film in a cinema - instead of with the comforts of home - so we can see it with no-effort company.
(2/?)
I'm not suggesting to cinemas that they try to show 168 movies at a time. That would be very confusing, for everyone involved.
But I do wonder why they don't diversify a bit more, and have fewer screenings of each film per week. So they're not showing movies so often that the off-peak screenings routinely screen to 1 or 2 people, even for popular movies.

“No single place on Earth is resilient against all global catastrophic risks, but Australia is the country most frequently identified as resilient in the literature we reviewed … Even this country, however, is vulnerable to specific hazards and dependent on continued international trade for fuel, medicine, and fertilizer. There is truly no place to hide.”

So maybe we should stop fucking up our own habitat so we at least prevent the disasters we can prevent to the extent that we can prevent them.
