Israeli official skips US court hearing on child sex charges

A senior Israeli official accused of child sex crimes in the USA has failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing.

Tom Artiom Alexandrovich was allowed to return to #Israel after being charged with luring or attempting to lure a child online to engage in sexual conduct. His release without restrictions has led to speculation that he may have received preferential treatment.

The government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu falsely denied that Alexandrovich was arrested and downplayed the incident.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said there was nothing unusual about how the case was handled.

“The standard bail for this charge was $10,000, so anybody … can post that bail and get released with no conditions,” Wolfson said.

Journalist’s final images show the Gaza hospital stairwell where she was killed by an Israeli strike

The last photos taken by #MariamDagga show the damaged stairwell outside a hospital in the Gaza Strip where she would be killed by an Israeli strike moments later.

Dagga, a visual journalist who freelanced for Associated Press, was among 22 people, including five reporters, killed Monday when Israeli forces struck Nasser Hospital twice in quick succession.

Algeria’s ambassador to the United Nations, his voice breaking and on the verge of tears, read a letter Wednesday to the U.N. Security Council addressed to Dagga’s 13-year-old son, Gaith, who left #Gaza at the start of the war to live with his father in the United Arab Emirates.

“Ghaith. You are the heart and soul of your mother,” Bendjama quoted Dagga as writing. “When I die, I want you to pray for me, not to cry for me.”

Rotten Apple: Dozens of Former Israeli Spies Hired by Silicon Valley Giant

「 Under Cook’s leadership, Apple employees have been disciplined or even fired for wearing pins, bracelets, or keffiyehs in support of the Palestinian people. Nevertheless, groups such as Apples4Ceasefire continue to speak out about what they describe as Apple’s complicity in genocide 」

Dear Canadians supportive of #Palestine and against the ongoing #Genocide in Israel and the Humanitarian catastrophe that is ongoing.

There is a House of Commons e-Petition e-6751 currently open for signature.

It states:

Whereas:
Under Common Article 1 of the Geneva Conventions, Canada is required to respect international humanitarian law;

Under Article 59 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, Israel as an occupying power must allow and facilitate humanitarian aid by impartial organizations;

Canada’s own International Assistance Accountability Act requires that all Canadian foreign aid uphold human rights and international legal standards; and

Israel’s policy and actions violate all of these obligations.

We, the undersigned, Citizens and Residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons in Parliament assembled to

1. Publicly and unequivocally reject the militarized aid model currently used in Palestine;

2. Request the full restoration of access for UN agencies and established humanitarian NGOs, including UNRWA and the World Food Programme;

3. Insist on safe and immediate entry for Canadian healthcare workers and other international humanitarian personnel to Palestine;

4. Withhold Canadian funding from any entity or model that does not comply with principles of neutrality, impartiality, independence, and humanity; and

5. Ensure that all Canadian aid to Gaza is delivered through internationally recognized humanitarian channels.
