As of today — Thursday — in the #gaza Strip,
1 kilogram of flour costs 100 shekels ($30) in cash.
But here’s the painful truth:
To get that cash, people are forced to pay up to 45% in commission.
That means 1 kilogram of flour ends up costing 180 shekels ($55).

One kilogram makes only 10 loaves of bread — barely enough for a small family of 3.
But most families in Gaza have 6 or
more members.

Two pro-Israel groups have been barred from attending events organised by Stand Up to Racism (SUTR) Scotland.

Last year, the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign (SPSC) and the Scottish Palestinian Society (SPS) both urged SUTR to ban Glasgow Friends of Israel (GFI) from marches as the presence of the organisation had led to a growing number of pro-Palestine organisations dropping out.

Pope Leo XIV on Thursday renewed his call for “an immediate ceasefire” in the Gaza Strip and expressed his “profound hope” for “dialogue, reconciliation and lasting peace in the region,” following an Israeli attack on a Catholic church sheltering civilians.

It has been nearly two months since the disastrous rollout of the US-backed aid distribution centres in Gaza, a joint venture between Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) and Safe Reach Solutions (SRS), two contractors responsible for operating and militarising the centres, respectively.

I say disastrous, but these centres have been running flawlessly if the goal is to kill and maim Palestinians.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has rejected Israel’s attempt to cancel arrest warrants issued against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The decision was announced on tod by Pre-Trial Chamber I.

Israel had asked the ICC to withdraw or invalidate the warrants. It also called on the Court to suspend its investigation into crimes committed in Palestine.
