US working culture may be brain dead — I’d call it exploitative — but did you know it’s not illegal to send your staff home on time? This is an explicit choice made by many layers of management to hurt their workers.
I work with a lot of US-based staff, not at SpaceX, and they’re able to go home on time, visit the Dr, spend time with family.
That’s a choice bosses made.
Demon Core was bad but it wasn’t SpaceX-level bad.
@elena @GrapheneOS Accusing tool providers of supporting illegal activities is, as GrapheneOS explains it very simply, at best misleading, most probably intentional and manipulative. A knife, cash money, or a car, or an movable ladder can be used for illegal activties. Yet, we don't arrest the makers of those tools. So why threaten GrapheneOS. And also, why not threaten Google for the same reasons. Because Graphene is a smaller actor and an easy target, a scapegoat, most probably.

I remade the map for Moonstone - A Hard Day's Knight.
It was a lot of fun to draw.
I wish there was a modern version of this game.

@3Dreas in terms of difficulty, gore and challenge I've always seen it as a precursor to Dark Souls & friends
sometimes kdenlive is a bit frustrating to use
I want to transition between two audio tracks. the correct way to do this is a linear blend, not a decibel blend
I... cannot figure out how to do that
@halcy Could it be a legitimate missing feature?
How responsive are the kdenlive devs to bug/feature requests, I wonder.
i woke up from a dream where i was arguing with someone on the internet with this post fully formed in my mind
we have replaced our reproductive labourers with machines and are now have the gall to act surprised when the society being reproduced lacks a human element
Don’t shop at Home Depot, Target, or Amazon over the next week. During the busiest shopping period of the year, let’s make our dollars count by refusing to support corporations complicit in Trump’s authoritarian power grab: http://weaintbuyingit.com/?utm_source=mastodon
Okay, I’m so very sick of this shit.
CBS News headline: “One-third of those arrested by Border Patrol in Charlotte were classified as criminals, internal document says”
What the CBS News headline would be if we practiced journalism in this country instead of republishing press releases: “Two-thirds of those arrested by Border Patrol in Charlotte have no criminal history, according to internal document”
(The very first line of the actual article even moves from “one-third” to “less than one-third”!)
This isn’t hard! Just look at the things that are not what they’re trying to show you! Don’t make your readers do the work, write what you mean to say!

@kallekn This is to do with how the Bluesky bridge works I think.
There was some discussion about this in the three comments starting at https://github.com/pachli/pachli-android/issues/1801#issuecomment-3562858386.
tl;dr: The Bluesky bridge doesn't implement Mastodon's quote post yet.
I wanted to write this post because I want the Fedora project to have better security throughout their operating systems. I believe the first step to doing that, is to use another memory allocator that mitigates heap memory corruption and use-after-frees, alongside lots of other features to harden one of the most important functions in all modern systems as far as I am aware. hardened_malloc[1], by the GrapheneOS project, fits this description perfectly. Using this benefits not just the Fedora project, but it will also push other distributions to using hardened_malloc, and then the Linux ecosystem will benefit as a whole from the provided security. Good security is an essential part of good privacy, so this will also benefit the privacy of all Linux distributions.
Given the above paragraph, I want you to promote this thread[2] to anyone who is interested in security and privacy. You can also help by testing hardened_malloc on your own Linux systems and sharing your results with me through any means of contact, so that I can replicate the behaviour and make bug reports where necessary. For that, please see this page[3] for my preferred methods of contact.
I don't think I'll be able to attract a lot of people with this post on my own, so boosting will be massively appreciated. Thank you for reading this until this point. This isn't my longest toot yet but I feel like this is my most passionate, as I deeply care about security, GrapheneOS and the Fedora project. Again, thank you! (^_^)

Quirk's experience reflects mine: I found Jekyll trivial to install on elementary. But I can understand if its harder on a different setup.

@GeePawHill Sir, I am really glad you are in this world. And glad I get to be here at the same time as you.
@courtcan Thank you, Courtney, very kind of you to say. <3
Oh darn! I missed my 3-year #Fediversary! So glad I'm here! And in such good company! The #Fediverse Rocks!
If you're in Canada and are willing to wear respirators (aka N95 masks) but can't afford them, reach out and I'll help you get some, gratis.
I'm glad you recognize the threat and I want nothing more than for you to be well-protected. 💪
Let me take
one step further:
If you're still wearing procedure masks¹ you'd be willing to swap for respirators² that you can't afford or otherwise access, I'll buy a bunch of them from you for what you paid AND I'll make sure you get an equal number of respirators for the low, low price of $0.

@tripplehelix @downey are they? To my knowledge, we didn't yet hear from them. Also, their repo has no APK, which we'd need. But looking at their build.gradle.kts, they're not meeting our inclusion criteria either: GMS, PlayCore, Firebase, Crashlytics… 100% open source? Close maybe, but no cigar, unfortunately.
As for the inclusion criteria at IzzyOnDroid, you can find them here:
