When did you ORIGINALLY join Mastodon and/or the Fediverse?
@catsalad what happened to 2022, when I joined an instance that no longer exists.
This is actually misleading. No one gives away free cocaine to get people addicted.
@david_chisnall @lethe Was just about to ask where I could get one

This post was obviously a bit cynical. I didn't want to discredit the usage of drugs.
And I love that quite a few people came in to defend cocaine or drugs in general, but no one had a good word for LLMs 🔥
We've just finished setting up our XMPP stand at LinuxDays (@linuxdays) in Prague. If you are in the area make sure to visit us. We are here all day today and tomorrow (Sunday). We have stickers and buttons!
@daniel @linuxdays looks very cool! What's the Conversations lit-up thing made of btw?
At IndiaFOSS, I had hacked together an XMPP bot that changes the colour of an RGB LED according to whatever colour (HTML name or hex code) you text at it. I wonder if something similar would work here (for some other logo, if not for Conversations which we all know has to be green)!

Ok, Anthropic openly confirming GLM-5.3 to be close to Mythos was a bit surprising at first. But upon closer inspection, it screams "please help us gatekeep cyber defense capabilities so we can protect our revenue".

If things are going well for you right now, good.
Enjoy it.

Of course, the slugs worshipped their god out of fear, not love.
Have you heard of the PISA 2025 results? They are a wake-up call in our schools – and we are responding.
In our new Education Package, we will focus on the fundamentals: strong basic skills, empowered teachers, inclusive classrooms, and responsible use of digital technologies and AI. This is how we strengthen basic skills while helping top performers reach the highest levels.
A bright future begins at school.
@EUCommission It could be fun to start with the directive of 1988 - which even predates the EU - which is about adding a European dimension to education. Been almost 40 years, three generations, and zilch. If you want people to care about the EU, to also embrace their European identity, this is sorely needed.
Beyond that I honestly don't understand how it's possible that we've collectively seen decline just about everywhere yet nothing was done for many years now. Education being a national competence is not strong enough an argument, even less so as we're apparently ignoring that now.

Social media users are using the hashtag #IAmJaneDoe to protect the identity of Cornell's Jane Doe. The phrase is meant to occupy space in the timeline and obfuscate any potential revealing of Jane Doe’s personal information.

Galeria #Kaufhof… #Diesel… #Hormus… Vermieter… wir retten und retten und retten!
Aber was retten wir da eigentlich?
Und für wen?
Ich sage: Die Zukunft, denen die darin leben!

This is very bad news. Owncast has relied on this program the past couple of years, and has allowed us to have servers and services we wouldn't normally afford to be able to do otherwise, especially now with Gabe being unemployed.
Any other cloud hosting providers want to step in and help all the open source projects that are going to be in this position?
Additionally, this might be a good time to show your financial support for Owncast.
