Help Chris, a non-binary and pansexual resident of Florida move to a safer (for queer folks) state as they struggle with their housing due to neglect. Florida is an increasingly hostile state for queer folks and they no longer feel safe in it. They initially planned to flee the country but couldn't do so, so they now plan to move to Philadelphia instead.

OK $[blur fuck fuck fuck fucking fuck]. For the past several years, Dutch courts have been granting people's requests to be registered with gender marker "X" based on a principle of preempting legislation: it looked like proper legislation was in preparation but judges thought it inhumane to let people wait for that. Turns out a Dutch provincial court has now stalled someone's request to get gender marker "X" to ask the Hoge Raad (High Council, basically the highest court in the Netherlands) whether they should still be doing that because "considering shifting political and public opinion, it no longer looks like such legislation may be forthcoming." It looks like currently, all over the Netherlands, non-binary people in the process of requesting their "X" are seeing their name change awarded, but their gender marker change to "X" held until the High Council rules on the issue. #non-binary #nonbinary #TransRights

Also do not call nonbinary people transmasc/transfemme based exclusively on how you read their presentation.

Your opinions about what qualifies as masculine/feminine is not objective. The person may be trying to 'pass' or present in a certain way for reasons you are not privy (or entitled) to, they may have different cultural or personal ideas than you about masculinity and femininity, and they may identify as transmasc or transfemme based on something besides presentation.

Presentation is not the same as gender. That isn’t even trans 101, this is baseline queer 101!!!!

Just don't make assumptions about other people’s genders okay!? It’s really not that hard!

Do not call all AFAB nonbinary people 'transmasc' and all AMAB nonbinary people 'transfemme'.

Individuals may or may not identify with those terms for a variety of reasons, but assigning them to nonbinary people based exclusively on their AGAB is not okay!

You are effectively saying a person's gender identity can only be certain things because of their AGAB regardless of how they feel/identify- it shouldn't be hard to understand why that is transphobic!!!

There are AFAB transfemmes, AMAB transmascs, and nonbinary people (like me) that do not identify as either.

Calling someone a gender they don't identify as is still misgendering if the gender identity you are saying is not their AGAB or either 'man' or 'woman'.

Oh, you’re trying to make a general statement and this makes it easier for you?
It’s takes more time to check how a person identifies before using a term to describe them?
These are the exact ‘arguments’ we hear transphobes use for misgendering!!!
Are you really choosing to become one of the transphobes making excuses for misgendering trans people because it is ‘easier’!?!?
