Low-fantasy D&D aliens?

@rpg

I want to stick aliens 👽🛸 into my next D&D campaign. My idea is to have little grey men show up in a flying saucer and abduct the party. However, I'm worried that this is too comprehensible for the average #DnD character. I want the PCs to be confused, but not the players! What's the weirdest alien you've ever thrown at your D&D party?

Side note, I also want to give the baddies #mechs. How do I mechanically handle this?

Last night's teens #DnD group that I DM only had two players show up (out of 5), so instead of playing, we had a 2-hour conversation about life, autism, religion, Sonic the Hedgehog, outdoor school, good vs. evil, bullying, anxiety, sky diving, and dinosaurs.

It was a fantastic discussion, and all three of us had a great time.

Gaming night doesn't always have to be about gaming to be fun.

Having run Old School Essentials for awhile, I gotta say that the Sleep spell is as broken as I remember from D&D. It can completely shut down a low level encounter. A 1st level Magic User will be useless for the rest of the day, but that encounter is solved. I just tell the players how much treasure their characters find and move on after that spell gets cast.

Am I going to house rule it? Absolutely not. Sometimes the players need a win button.
