I love the fact that *so* many responses to that terrible "what technology is the left excited about" article are like, we're excited about trains. And solar power. And vaccines.
Like, y'know, stuff that actually benefits everyone and also helps the planet and also isn't wretched.

I hate that AirPods announce a 👍 tap back as “X liked your message” when I feel like 90% of the time it’s meant to convey yes. Feels like they just didn’t want to use thumbs up as a verb.

@RLIBlog @bloguers_net oh interesting sorry to see. @staff whats up with that, how can an account get a repeal through?
My one suggestion for the @Mastodon team is to partner with hosting companies, & allow people to setup an instance on their own domain.
People could purchase the plans they prefer, & Mastodon could get a commission for referring people.
I think all official #Fediverse apps should do this!

Imagine having this much spare time.
I barely even check this now. Oh, so snac shows me blocks (not my fault your server federates those to me!) so snac must be bad now.
People need to get a grip. Shit is all public, has public API, and nothing is encrypted. For almost a decade now. I'm hanging out for whatever encrypted platform is next; fedi has done its dash for me now for the most part.

I love how the Metaverse came and went with all those billions pissed away and Second Life was here well before and will probably be here long after too...

I'm wondering: what would it look like for independent music teachers to unionize? What might be a useful template for that from other industries? How can we work together to avoid siloing ourselves within our respective studios?
I'm just in the earliest stages of thinking about this, but I welcome any insights as I keep chewing on this line of thought. (2/2)
calling independent 1:1 music lesson teachers (boosts welcome!)
I've been contemplating recently how, while it's lovely to own my own means of production by teaching solo, there isn't really a capacity for unionizing. I'm a member of MTNA, but that provides professional connections and resources, not collective bargaining.
I also am very emphatic about not undercharging to avoid undercutting my colleagues, but I've noticed not all music teachers think this way. (1/x)
