Seeing as my most famous post on the site below has been getting a little traction again. Just let everyone know, my Scanned Texture packs are currently on sale.
I've only had one sale on itch since the end of May so anything is appreciated!

@hipsterelectron spawn of satan, still fighting them, turns out you can fight a lot of enemies at once when they turn out to be the same enemy (these specific techbros)
With the Scanned Textures tagline being "Real textures from real objects for your projects", it does create some absurd situations.
Behold hay on a flatbed scanner.

They know what they are doing." - Mr. Spock (on BlueSky)
@aeva @hipsterelectron @pupxel The grind for learning a new thing can be a fun sort of tedious, in a way I find similar to how grinding in an RPG for a rare drop can be fun. Not sure about med school, but, I've done the hours-and-hours of grammar-translation language study, for example. I can absolutely see why most people bounce off of it learning nearly nothing, but if it's a language I already care about learning, it's not that bad - but, motivation has to come first, or the grind is hell.
@miss_rodent @aeva @pupxel this is how i've been grinding cryptography
I've been working a lot without creating anything I really want to show (hope other artists can relate to this), so I'm going to post this drawing from my micron pen days. I drew this from an old robin's nest that fell out of a tree. I'm not sure I would have the patience to do this again.

I don't own a gun. I have not touched a gun for decades. I have not once seen a gun in public in the city where I live, except for the pistols carried by law enforcement. Because in Denmark we don't have guns.
Our last school shooting was in 1994.
In the US 13,000 people will die from gun violence this year.
In Denmark only 10.
I call that being pro life.

@stuart @jsl @dkf @wtrmt @quixoticgeek It’s not the end of personal computing as we know it: you can compute happily in 2Gb of RAM or less, and your OS should fit in less than 5Gb of disk space, even for a 64-bit OS.
What it’s the end of is AI-infested bloatware and garbage like Electron apps and trying to run six zillion containers or VMs on a personal machine.
If anything’s a threat to personal computing, it’s the creeping ensloppification of open source projects by AI-pilled developers.
@Spirit unfortunately, that post was contrary to the facts.
Danish resistance forces had plenty of weapons thanks to airdropped supplies from Britain, so gun laws had nothing to do with the level of resistance.
Also, the limited resistance on invasion day was primarily a consequence of an insane legal framework that cast doubt on the right to shoot when no war was declared. As a result, Denmark has had a standing fire at will order since 1952.
@pumiquxt Probably not bugs then in your case. I'm not a fan of the ionization detectors as they can be really slow to react in slow burning fires. What I've found works well in our house is a model that has both a ionization and a photoelectric detector. No false alarms yet, and it has gone off at exactly the right time when my wife seasons the cast iron cookware.
I'm a retired fire inspector so I spent a lot of time talking to people about smoke alarms, what causes false alarms, and how to mitigate them.
@955_36 thanks for the info
