@955_36 not photoelectric
interesting theory about bugs
@pumiquxt Probably not bugs then in your case. I'm not a fan of the ionization detectors as they can be really slow to react in slow burning fires. What I've found works well in our house is a model that has both a ionization and a photoelectric detector. No false alarms yet, and it has gone off at exactly the right time when my wife seasons the cast iron cookware.
I'm a retired fire inspector so I spent a lot of time talking to people about smoke alarms, what causes false alarms, and how to mitigate them.
@955_36 thanks for the info
Ours too. Only late at night. Two years old.
so fuckin weird

@pumiquxt This time of year it may be bugs seeking out the warmth they emit.
Curious, are they photoelectric models that are going off?
