@ami_angelwings At the climax of Cory Doctorow's Walkaway, TransCanada corporation sends amercenary contractor army to reclaim its private prison complex, presumably as a trial run for restoring "default" society's control of other walkaway enclaves. But the transition process had already reached a point where most mercenaries were one or two degrees of separation from a walkaway relative, and large numbers of them began defecting in the face of Walkaway propaganda. Meanwhile Walkaway pirate broadcasts of the attack caused TransCanada share value to implode. The failure of the attack begins a final cascading failure of default society and the tipping point to the new successor society.
