My hobbies include playing #WorldOfWarcraft, reading about World Of #Warcraft and thinking about #WoW

#Linux (alternating between #Bazzite & #ArchLinux)
#Gaming on #Steam, #PS5 & #Switch (mainly on PC though, see above!)
#SciFi such as #StarWars, #Startrek, #Babylon5, #Marvel & #DC etc
Also a screenshot junkie #VirtualPhotography

I'm also awaiting the results of my #Autism diagnosis as I write this, and am also fairly confident I have #ADHD as well, giving me the #AuDHD super-deluxe wombo-combo 😂

I decided to make the jump to this self-hosted instance at the end of 2025 after many happy years on masto.ai/@sar, and have no regrets.

Yet.

When my partners and I brought back and re-issued retro game The 7th Guest, #GOG was the first to reach out to us to carry the title. Great team, great site, great service to #gamers - that’s why this is good news for all. Props to the original team for continuing the vision. #gaming #RetroGaming

Alright alright I am willing to go back to GOG if I am offered a competitive salary and given free reign to create the first actual viable alternative to Steam for Linux gamers.

When I first started playing tabletop RPGs, there wasn't much more than D&D and Traveler. The person who ran the game was the Dungeon Master (DM) even if there were no dungeons in the game,

Later some games started using the term "Game Master" (GM) instead.

And then Call of Cthulhu called their game-runners "Keepers" (as in asylum keepers I guess), and things broke wide open.

But today, after over 40 years of running games, I realized that I'd rather be called a DM after all: a Dream Manager. Not that I run games set in Call of Cthulhu's Dreamlands (although as a long-standing fan of Lord Dunsany I've certainly used elements from that setting in some of my campaigns); rather, I see games as shared dreams made manifest by the interworkings of the game group.

That also removes the problematic "Master" part of the title, which always bothered me a little.
