FYI there's an option that enables you to use Delta Chat for standard emails as well as encrypted chats. I have a separate email account for family and close friends, and I use DC as the mobile app for that account.
That way even if you can't convince anyone I know to use DC, it's still useful to me. Just not as a substitute for centralised chat services.
