Nuestro servidor Undernet procesa unos 300 correos diarios correspondientes a la red de mensajería de DeltaChat @delta Hete aquí que sostenemos una serie de cuentas de correo de bots que sirven consultas para personas que acceden a la web a través del protocolo del correo electrónico que en algunos países, es más barato que el protocolo http/https. Es un servicio invisible, o casi invisible que mantenemos desde hace varios años y que fue impulsado desde el comienzo gracias a la iniciativa de @adbenitez@masto.es / @adbenitez@mastodon.social El tráfico de correos en el server, es totalmente cifrado, por la naturaleza de DeltaChat, pero en realidad no sabía con que magnitud se usaba hasta que simplemente puse un contador en los mensajes cifrados que deja pasar el anti-spam y desde el 14 de abril hasta hoy 14 de julio, van más de 25.000 correos procesados. Si sos una persona que usa deltabot@buzon.uy o juegos@buzon.uy dejame un comentario de aliento para seguir adelante. Personalmente no participo mucho en la red de DeltaChat pero la banco (en el sentido sentimental, no en el técnico... que de hecho, también...) #deltachat designs are #OfflineFirst using delay tolerant protocols. Messages are queued when a path is blocked. email servers are made for this and run at planetary scale.
Messages crossing the border may arrive three days later but they arrive.

Peoples can stay in private touch across time and space, to the extent possible in current breakdown times. Which is what delta is about.

I want a calendar share solution that can work in a calender client app. Don't rule Google out. And can work as a get way drug away from big tech.

We used to look closely at #whatsapp Usability/UX. Not anymore.

Meta is enshittifying WA to become a social media app, charging companies for access to followers, showing ads, and pushing AI slop down the throat of billions of people.

#deltachat remains all about pleasing private messaging UX. Resilient, secure and decentralized. Its trivial to get started as a family, group or little org. Its trivial to migrate between android, iphone, desktop, Ubuntu touch.

#DeltaChat is for when centralization hits the fan

We are basically doing what #signal and in particular moxie refused to do or declares impossible: federation.

Both #email and #activitypub ecosystems are all about federation.

However, #deltachat is vertically centralized in that all UIs use the same #rust core which implements all networking, encryption, chat/group/message logic in a single centralized place. The now 40+ #chatmail mail relay network is driven from centralized code.

At each level replication and federation is built in.
