This is a side view of one of the orange line cars. You see Christmas decorations, such as ornaments Santa, a penguin polar bear bells.

This view looks down the length of the train in a station. Again, you see stickers applied to the outside of the stainless steel and orange subway car. In this case Christmas wreaths wreath trimmings at the top some Christmas lights the platform is your typical dirty subway platform.

This is a view of one of the semi transparent stickers over a window. It is a sticker of a penguin wearing a scarf and a hat. Seeing through it, two people are sitting on the orange line benches inside the car. It also has a sign saying going to Oak Grove

This is a picture of the ceiling inside the car. They’ve plastered a sticker of blue sky with white snowflakes. You see the exit sign, a security camera and a hanging strap.

The Rush at Oxford Circus

At the end of a day of street photography we took the train back to Liverpool Street Station from Oxford Circus. That of course calls for the obligatory long exposure shot of the train coming into the station.

I’ve been hanging onto this photo of sunlight streaming through the street grates above the 59th Street station in Manhattan and never knew quite what to do with it, so here it is.

(Also, I guess I finally have an entry for #TrainTrackTuesday!)

Photo taken on the platform of a New York subway station, at an angled perspective looking onto the tracks which recede to a disappearing point near right frame. To the right of the tracks is the yellow caution strip of the tiled platform. This is echoed by the lighting on the platform on the far side (where some commuters mingle), which can be seen through the supporting columns between the near and far sets of tracks. Sunlight streams through the ventilation grates above and illuminates the near tracks (as well as highlights the station’s grubbiness and disrepair). Apart from the sunlight and the yellow station lighting, the rest of the image is in shadow.
