Hotel Sakartvelo. One of many abandoned resort buildings scattered across the spa town of Tskaltubo in western Georgia. Once part of a busy Soviet-era holiday industry, the hotel is now an empty shell of concrete and broken stairwells.
To capture this shot, I was perched (uneasily) on a matching staircase on the other side of this lobby. Needless to say, I was relieved to step back onto solid ground again!

In that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of guilt. That afternoon, I canceled the lawn service. Since then โ and for as long as I own this property-he will be safe in my yard.

Edendork Dance Hall, Co Tyrone, Ireland. A popular social venue during the Irish showband era (1960s to mid-1980s.)
A huge blue dome towers above the dancefloor; a chandelier hangs from it.
Once a lively venue, it is now out of fashion and out of time. Sadly, it was demolished a few years ago.

Popped into the garden to clear some dead plants and leaves away. Two foxes were sunning themselves. One scarpered. One couldn't have given less of a shit that I was there if it tried. It sniffed my shoes, it was very interested in my phone when I pulled it out to take photos. Not the best assistance I could have asked for, but also not the worst.
Another impressive abandoned palace in Portugal. This one is now renovated as a hotel!

An abandoned ballroom, one of many that sit decaying in what once was East Germany.
The stunning late 1800s example retains most of its original features, from the mustard-coloured curtains that line the stage to the retro pendant light fitting hanging from the ceiling. Sadly, it suffered a fire a few months before my visit, and the smell of charred wood was still strong in the air.
