How could I post anything other than a photo from our 2011 visit to Portmeirion, shooting location for the 1967 TV series, The Prisoner?

We're on one side of a small, ornate, vibrant, formal park surrounded by flower beds, trees, and buildings in a variety of shapes, styles, and colours. Our position is slightly elevated so we can see the short lawn areas split by paths, lines of bushes and shrubs, benches, and a shallow pond. There are a couple of small buildings in the park area, follies with Italian influence in the architecture. A couple of tall, leafy trees, typical of the British climate stand behind but the majority of the trees elsewhere, including framing the view in front of us to the left, are palms. Flowers in reds, blues, and pinks line the bottom border of the scene. A tall clock tower stands highest amongst the houses that fill the background to the left, each of them differing in height, width, and colour. It's a scene that would be eye-achingly bright in full sunshine but it's still a wonderfully vibrant view on this lightly overcast day.

As mentioned in a post a couple of days ago, we've had a good year for figs here. Apparently, figs were one of the earliest plants cultivated by humans, and examples have been found dating to before 9000 BCE This was significantly before the earliest known domestication of wheat, barley and legumes.
