Look who’s dining out! The largest animals, by far, that I saw on my adventures in #Colorado were not on a trail, but next to a house in a neighborhood that abutted one of the trailheads. While walking to my car after a hike, I saw four #moose (two in pic) chomping on some delicious shrubs and trees next to the house. 🤣 This is a zoomed in photo— definitely kept my distance. #wildlife #nature #photography

I hiked by so many beautiful scenes during my recent trip to #Colorado. Here are pics of some colorful flowering plants that were growing along the trail that I hiked in Red Rocks Park, outside Denver. #BloomScrolling #hiking #mountains

Todays plant is in honour of Angus Lunn who died yesterday. Angus made a huge contribution to the understanding of Northumberland's ecology, and single-handedly demonstrated the importance of the border mires and inspired their restoration. Look him up, that's only a part of his important work and achievements.
So here's an indistinct photo of a very important tree, one of the Williams Cleugh Scots Pines. (see reply for more info)

Dandelions are common as muck. Right? Well not really. There are 250ish species of dandelion in the UK, and this one is probably the rarest plant I've seen. It's the St Kildan Dandelion (Taraxicum pankhurstium) It's found only on St Kilda. It's also the easiest to identify, because it's the only species of dandelion on St Kilda. It's closely related to Icelandic species.

From my walk this morning, Brown-Eyed Susan, Rudbeckia hirta. While taking the first photo I noticed a little flower crab spider, the Misumena vatia, commonly called the goldenrod crab spider.
