"A strong storm system is forecast to impact the Ventura County area from Tuesday through Friday. The event is expected to peak on Wednesday, when many areas of the county can expect to receive 8-10 hours of moderate to heavy rainfall. Current projections suggest rainfall totals will range from 2 to 4 inches in the coastal and valley areas and between 4 to 8 inches in foothill and mountain areas. The National Weather Service forecast is available HERE.

I love rain and I love winters on Vancouver Island for that reason. It's an awakening for the senses. It's refreshing, it brightens up colours on leaves and tree trunks like the arbutus. Creeks and rivers are revived. The forest exhales a scent of humus.
