Rafts of penguins return to the surface rocketing up from the depths leaving trails of bubbles.
These bubbles act as a coat around the penguins, allowing them to reach speeds of more than 20km/h underwater, making them the fastest of any diving bird. Their streamlined bodies and strong “flippers” allow them to dive more than 200 metres to feed on swarms of krill in the Antarctic depths.’ — Rafts of penguins return to the surface rocketing up from the depths leaving trails of bubbles. Two small mushrooms from a second fungi hunting trip to #EppingForest. The focus-stacking by hand worked particularly well on this one - it needed a bit of practice.

Sigma 105 f2.8 #macro lens with a four-thirds mount - adapted to my OM1 - LED panel.

The same bug on the black surface. It has a multi-faceted black eye and long segmented antennae, and bronze-brown metallic carapace.

A similar bug (possibly the same one?) on the edge of a leaf facing away from the camera. Its carapace is catching the light and shimmering gold.

The bug now facing the camera. You can see the extra pair of little red eyes on the top of its head. Its body is covered with tiny white and black dots that look raised. It has a little white patch on its foreleg which might be a mite.
