Assuming no defectors in the "opposing" camp,

For #Chatcontrol to die (for the time being) we urgently need these countries to turn around:

#Bulgaria#Croatia#Cyprus#Denmark#France#Hungary#Ireland#Italy#Latvia#Lithuania#Malta#Portugal#Slovakia#Spain#Sweden

and these to decide to throw in their weight in favor of fundamental rights:

Today in Labor History August 26, 1913: The Dublin lock-out began, a 5- month strike over terrible living and working conditions, and for union recognition. At the time, some Irish workers were living with 55 people per house. The Infant mortality rate among the poor was 142 per 1,000 births. TB-related deaths were 50% higher than in England or Scotland. The main organizers of the strike were 2 syndicalists, James Larkin and IWW cofounder, James Connolly. Several workers were killed by police and by strikebreakers. Hundreds were injured. WB Yeats’ poem, September 1913, is often viewed as a commentary on the brutality of the strike. Connolly was later executed as a leader of the Easter Rising, in 1916.

🧵2/3: Thanks to the #London#Irish Brigade for organising the protest this morning at #Westminster's Magistrates Court in support of #kneecap's own Mo Chara (which I've learnt means "my friend" 🥹), thanks to all musicians and people who'd travelled from #Ireland and Bristol at impossible hours to be counted 🫡.

🧵3/3: Liam aka Mo Chara from #kneecap leaving #Westminster Magistrates this afternoon. Special mention to #frankriot for her amazing street signage and last but not least, #FreePalestine🇵🇸 ✊🏽!

“Activists who disrupt the flow of weapons to a genocidal regime may violate petty criminal statutes, but they uphold a far greater law and a more profound human imperative: to protect a people and culture from annihilation,” she wrote.
