Whatever, maybe like me you'll enjoy Ei Wada playing a vintage electric fan as a mild distraction from the state of things:
@David and Windows is not full of bugs how?
@jupiter Honestly, no. Windows has many issues because of privacy and stuff, but bugs are not one.
Also, I was not talking about the OS itself as much as all the replacement software I need to use to replace the ones I used on Windows and that don't exist on Linux.
Now no longer recognizable as CW (much faster), and seems to be in 3 pairs of frequencies, with each pair spaced 7 KHz apart, occasionally moving in tandem.
And now there’s finally a pirate on 6960 LSB, amid the weird signals.
I don't know a lot of Korean (language), but —
I know enough to know what to say loudly in front of her family to embarrass her 🙂

We just released Bonfire Social 1.0.3 🔥
Blog post with all the details: bonfirenetworks.org/posts/bo...
It comes with dozens of bug fixes and UX improvements, plus:
- Federated comments embeddable on any web page.
- Deep Ghost integration: SSO, membership tier sync, and automatic article import.
- New dashboard widgets: spotlight, polls closing soon, top discussions.
-
#CalmEmpowerment: a new design pattern that starts with a few sensible defaults, offers a middle layer of common adjustments, and reveals the full options only when you need them. Boundaries and post permissions got this treatment first, more to follow...
-
Modular community rules: a first step in bringing research and co-design with students and researchers at @hci@micro.blogs.princeton.edu into Bonfire, so governance becomes something communities can better define and share, and that others can fork and adapt.
Ladies and gentlemen... the weekend. (also: you are important and are not alone 🧡)
Of course we do!
There is something wrong with the horses in the Kaliningrad region.

All these weird insidious ways of trying to draw you in to something you find immoral.
"If you don't use it, you'll cede the ground to all the people who do use it. Don't ignore it. You can't sway a conversation you're not part of."
Like, my friend, I do *not* have to participate in a morally abhorrent activity to say it is morally abhorrent. If it was just about the conversation, I don't think you'd find it so important to try to make me participate in using or supporting it.
Also, I'm not ignoring it. I am trying to avoid it. You know, like you avoid any bad idea. To avoid it requires you to be aware of it, and to be knowledgeable enough to not be swayed by specious arguments.
This is horrific and a massive breach of ethics where it concerns consent.
The University of Southern California (#USC) and University of California, San Diego (#UCSD) have millions of dollars in contracts to sell bodies donated for scientific research to the #Navy who gave them to the #IDF. (Our tax dollars at work.)
Yes, the IDF. Easier to know how to kill #Palestinian kids if you take aim at some #American corpses first, I guess.
Both universities have said they plan on continuing the program. Maybe rethink your plans to donate your body to science, if that was on your agenda.

Mojo is all over his new stuffy. It was love at first squeak. #dogsofmastodon #dogs
It took Republicans:
•40 years but they gutted the EPA
•50 years but they repealed Roe v Wad
•60 years but they gutted the VRA
All three are wildly popular policies with the American people. Republicans don't care. Gutted them anyway. Point is, any Democrat running for office for anything short of revolutionary change to the status quo should just stay home. We need a political revolution, not centrist cowardice.
Everytime I use our lawnmower I have to clear away anything that blocks the air vents.
So I crawl around under the deck while Summer watches.
Today while I was on the ground I looked up at these.
Wow!
Our red climbing rose is really taking off for the first time.

@Corax42 Thanks, but no thanks. It seems like a big ordeal to possibly not work.
I think that's the big difference between tech people and us. You guys find solving this kind of problem exciting, like solving a puzzle or something. It makes non-tech people run away, and run away fast.
I'm fine with spending time learning how to use a tool I will need (I spent hours and hours learning Da Vinci Resolve, and that's why I want to stick to it and not spend time learning another video editor) but ⤵️
@Corax42 I have no interest struggling to make it work. I want to click on an install button and that's all.
Luckily, I had procrastinated in installing Linux on my old PC. It's old an clunky, but the software I need work on it, so I guess it will make its return on my secondary desk (that's less space for me, but probably less frustration)

For anyone that can't afford a windows computer, try Emmabuntüs.
It was designed to run on computers that can no longer support windows, like my laptop 😬. It's development was assisted by the Togolese Federation of Disabled People’s Association with blind students in mind.

If you know anyone that may need, or just want, an accessible Linux, please share to get the word out and to put a spotlight on accessibility programming. ❤️
Hello I am the rust lang project. Today we are debating whether or not to allow LLMs. Some ground rules first: no talking about any of the ways in which LLMs are bad, and absolutely no talking about the consequences of using them. Let's keep it civil folks!

I declare "ethics" to be out of scope for my habit of feeding people I don't like to big cats.
No reply on the Fediverse may mention the following topics:
• Long-term social or economic impact of feeding people to big cats.
• The environmental impact of feeding people to big cats.
• Anything to do with the legal status of feeding people to big cats.
• Moral judgements about people who feed people to big cats.
@catsalad There was someone that I wanted to feed to a big cat but my god the queue is ridiculous! We need more big cats!
