The focus on #denaturalization is just the latest step by the #Trump admin to reshape the nation's #immigration system across all levels of govt, turning it into a major focus across multiple federal agencies. That has come with redefining who is let into the #UnitedStates or has the right to be an #American. Since his return to office, Trump has sought to end #BirthrightCitizenship & massively scale back #refugee programs.

At least one person has already been denaturalized. On June 13, a judge ordered the revocation of Elliott Duke’s #citizenship, who uses they/them pronouns. Duke is an #American #military #veteran originally from the #UK who was convicted for distributing child sexual abuse material—something they later admitted they were doing prior to becoming a US citizen.

"How often does this happen? The #Trump administration is also dismantling #data collection, making it difficult to count the deaths it is causing. By one American economist’s online dashboard, about 350,000 people worldwide have died so far because of cuts in #American aid. My guess is that the figure isn’t so high, partly because it takes time for #children to weaken and die, but that the rate of deaths will accelerate."
